For the the reason this generation still discusses our relegation out of the football league. Different opinions and different reasons.
We have waited 48 years for this moment and it would have been just if it had been straight forward that's all. in the passage of time nothing ever gets evaluated clear cut on the circumstances.
Fair enough - although I suspect Barrow getting promoted without the season being played in full will be a very minor footnote in the 2020 yearbook which will simply be remembered for corona impacts medically and financially

Hopefully the matter will be irrelevant and the season gets finished and everyone gets to celebrate properly 😊
Well being a tee-totaler even I will raise a glass or two of Bailey's if that happens. :o

Think the mindset will change very soon to acceptance that the season wont get finished and to how to manage that fairly for all clubs. There will always be debate.

Points per match average as mentioned above by Steve seems a really good idea, and perhaps goal difference should also be factored in.

It's all hypothetical at present but it's all pretty serious too.

Would IE want to go through another season in this league if its null and void and every team starts again? I doubt it

Would IE want to be our manager if we were elected so to speak as champions? I think yes

Will we get compensation from anyone if league is stopped and null and void? Probably not

Apparently a lot of clubs have already stated that corona virus as it isn't mentioned in polices, they wont be covered by insurance so its gonna hurt a lot of clubs!!

It is bloody typical of our luck this, have the best team for decades, sweeping teams aside, top.of the league, almost there and then BOOM!! Being a supporter of our club has never been easy but this would be the lowest of the lows if we have to start again!

If the season is null and void and I highly doubt its gonna go that way, it will cause outrage.... also someone has to replace bury. Theres 3 options, let fixtures stand, play behind closed doors or postpone till all this blows over, have a pint and relax, dont worry lads and ladies.

Jim wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 2:10 pm I think the season needs to be completed somehow. How about this:

Review situation on 3rd April (only that date because EFL have stated it).
If ok, carry on with scheduled fixtures and extend the season for a couple of weeks to complete the postponed fixtures.
If things are worse, delay completion of season until July.
Complete the season in July and August.
Give players a break and start new season from October, to finish end of May 2021.

Not sure how to work out finances and players' contracts though!
I think the 3rd April is very optimistic, I cannot believe that the country as a whole will be back up and running as normal.
I think they will "kick the can down the road a bit further" for at least another month.
Are players contracted till the end of the season or is it a specific date?
It's a mess
We're all supporters on here. Let's leave the negative comments to the away fans

I think in football all contracts finish on 30th June.

Remember the pools panel in the winter of 1963? Get a panel of experts to award points based on their assessment of the likely result. A modern twist on this might be a representative of each club to play the match on Football Manager. I would have suggested a penalty shootout to decide each match but our record isn't very good in that department ;)
