Holker street end holds more than the main stand equals more money for the clubCromwell58 wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 8:06 pmNo give them the Main Stand were you sit.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 7:38 pm

Seriously I'd let them bring 2 thousand if they want - think of how that extra income could help us next season. Can never understand why for one match fans aren't prepared to watch the game from somewhere else. Think of the long term benefits for the club.

It's not about money as a Holker St end user yes give them it. Pack the ground and let's have a great end of season day out. Let's have some noise and enjoy the dayFanzoneFan wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 8:45 pm Seriously I'd let them bring 2 thousand if they want - think of how that extra income could help us next season. Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
Can see the argument from both sides (and I hope plenty of the free tickets available to many different folk have been taken up to justify it) people who’ve always stood on the Holker Street End obviously don’t want away fans stood there, I’d be the same if they said we are giving the Pop side over to away fans.
But then on the other hand it’s yet more easy income we are missing out on, with even more NW based teams coming into the league next season that away end really does need to find a way become a 1000 capacity absolute minimum…….

I’m not sure we even can just give them the whole end. You need access to a certain amount of toilets per person, number of exits per person etc and we currently get around it by letting home fans use the Popular Side.
Happy to be corrected by anyone who knows ‘the rules’.

I think your correct. IIRC when we gave Hartlepool the whole of the Holker st end a few years back there was a row of portable toilets against the wall adjacent to where the old bluebird club was.Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 9:20 am I’m not sure we even can just give them the whole end. Yes Dave correct, as the away fans can't go to the toilets behind the Pop Side. There's other reasons too.

Okey doke, thanks Steve.

A pity we even have to have a discussion about segregation. It's not necessary at rugby matches, with fans intermingling amicably. Unfortunately football attracts a high percentage of morons which makes segregation necessary.

One of the biggest myths about is that; yes not as common but it definitely happens. I’ve seen it a few times at Salford rugby league games before and during matches

Re: No pressure - let's spoil the party
There shouldn't be any away fans in The Holker End. However - on this occasion, with regard to income - we should have let them have the whole of that terrace - as we did when Darlington visited a few seasons ago.
This problem has an easy, but probably (at this moment in time) not a practical solution.
Knock down The Crossbar building and install terracing or seats on what was previously the old Steelworks End - and designate it as the Away End. It would probably house about 1,500 away fans. This would generate more income for the club and allow The Holker End to remain - as it was intended initially - to be the Home End. Wasn't it an ex copper that had the bright idea to house away fans on the home terrace? The mind boggles
