Players we might be interested in....

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

In my opinion he is wrong about that, and hasn’t thought it through
I completely agree, I’m not advocating it. Just saying that’s what Brown has said and we have to take him at his word……
Hope to be wrong but would be suicidal imo

No, I don't think Paul Hornby has bought the idea. Paul mentioned something about meeting the idea of training in Barrow halfway-or words to that effect.
The term he used was a "hybrid" idea. Having a two base training set up, PH said that over a two week period it might mean a player spending an extra 3 or 4 days in Barrow
I don't think a hybrid model would even amount to that

Basically means they will come to Barrow on a Friday before home games as they do now! ;)

Comparable career stats (games played and goals scored) record to Andy Cook. The record of a proven goal scorer we need.
At Ipswich, Norwood will getting 2 or 3 times the salary that we could afford to pay.
looks like he's signing for Stockport

I’d welcome Quigley back, sometimes it just clicks at a certain club. However I would still be wanting another decent striker. Players can run all day but as a striker need to be most importantly stick it in the old onion bag.

Feel like quigs time came and went with us, have to be looking elsewhere im afraid. Only way I could see him working out again would be if we went for hird and got them playing “evatt” ball with him playing the same role.

No idea whether Quigley will be back or not - but he can play as the central striker with 2 quick guys next to him (Kay + an out and out striker) or as a support striker playing off a big guy (as he did with Calvin Andrew). Either way a front 3 of Kay, Quigley +1 with Rooney behind would give us 3 of the 4 players who know each others play inside out already - then Gotts and a younger version of Jason Taylor in behind would give us a decent midfield and front line.

If Quigley did come back someone could enquire of him whether the reasons he gave for leaving in the first place i.e. the need to be closer to home, no longer apply.

There will be literally hundreds if not thousands of professional footballers available in the next few weeks, so why the obsession with former players?

agree there's a reason certain player's we sign aren't getting in their former team and it shows when they play for us !

Yes, we should move on from Quigley. Don't look back, don't go back, we are not traveling in that direction. The more we look back, the more we will miss what's in front of us.

I’d be happy enough with Quigs back as long as we don’t pay for him and depending what system we are going to be playing.
Look at Rooney for example, his goals and assists kept us up but he couldn’t get in the Stockport team because they signed a player we never could afford
