I met him and he seemed a really decent man who worked hard for our town

It was Simon Fell plus quite a few local people who started the ball rolling. Like you I met Simon and wrote to him about local matters. He always replied quickly and addressed my concerns. Top man.Methuselah wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 7:27 pmI think.you will find that our current MP Michelle Scrogham thanked Simon Fell for all the work he put in to get it.It would be fitting if when King Charles comes to Barrow Simon Fell.was invited back as a way oif the town saying thank you.

Just to make it clear, the title “Royal” applies to the dockland areas where the manufacturing takes place, and not the wider areas of Barrow.

Although it's great news, I did think we were short changed a little by not being a royal town, after all it was the people who lived in the town that made the shipyard what it is.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 8:44 am Just to make it clear, the title “Royal” applies to the dockland areas where the manufacturing takes place, and not the wider areas of Barrow.

The implications on the news bulletins was that the King will be coming later this year to bestow the town itself with Royal status.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 8:44 am Just to make it clear, the title “Royal” applies to the dockland areas where the manufacturing takes place, and not the wider areas of Barrow.
