We keep hearing these accusations regarding Iain Wood but with no evidence.
I’m aware he was involved in securing us a training base, improving the surroundings for the players both at the training ground and Holker street. Improving facilities for players families and children, involved in the financial side of any transfers.
Anything else is just rumour and conjecture with no evidence whatsoever. Please if you have any tell us what it is.

So one of our more promising and successful managers is part of an NDA that prevents us knowing what happened, and one of the more inept managers who was sacked for team performances cited Wood as an aid DOESN'T give you cause for concern? That's an interesting stance to take.

Just reading a segment from Harry Redknapp (I think most would recognise him as a knowledgeable and successful manager with decades of experience) as he talks about Maresca's departure from Chelsea. Like he says, what chance do many modern managers have when they have to rely on the recruitment skills of others (and I will add, non-footballing people)? I'm afraid I'll always be of the school of thought that expects a manager to be the be all and end all of transfers in and out, with the support of scouts and a capable assistant manager. Director of Football? Technical Director? To what end?? A CEO to oversee the business operations, absolutely needed these days. The rest of it is just faff giving ego-tickles to people who are good at getting owners to pay extra for what used to be entirely a manager's role.

It's all to do with money and from what football was, this is a real shame and will only get worse!

Recent arrtical about players salaries and potential caps on cost, was reportedly scuppered by the big clubs.. years ago it was always stated that players had short or shorter careers but seriously, most common folk would take ten years hard graft to earn what some do in a WEEK.. and it's this that kills football clubs.

Just heard a conversation on 5Live saying that there are 5 people above the manager at Chelsea, and anyone coming in as Head Coach has to work with that.

It was also said that when things go wrong the manager has to walk while the 5 above carry on!
