I didn't agree with Barkhuizen coming off for Mahoney especially in a 442, Tom's ability to get to the by line and whip balls in should be exactly what the two centers forwards want, plus Mahoneys want to slow the play down all the time and mess about is irritating. Having said all that we looked a much better sides playing a 442 what I saw in the second half you could watch every week.
Takes us back to recruitment no right back on the books ties the manages hand. The gaffer is clearly prepared to do what it takes however which instills me with confidence even if we didn't get the result last night.

Is Fletcher injured? For me he can become a decent striker who out of all our options seems like the only one really desperate to score. I think it would be a shame if we didn't persist with him and someone else got him, reaping the rewards.
Fletcher injured his shoulder at Swindon and was ruled out for four weeks. Agreed when he was up there before his injury he looked decent a threat and he’s not even a natural striker, which says a lot about the others. I’m holding on to some hope that Whitfield probably the only genuine bit of quality we have, and Fletcher returning will make us a better attacking team. Even Scott Smith who was improving and has another 2/3 weeks out? He’s a better option than Earing who just doesn’t contribute or show for the ball and hides for me. Anonymous.
Also agree was a strange one putting Mahoney on who just wants to come inside and doesn’t offer anything, Barkhuizen hasn’t been great but at least he stays wide and gets forward and can get a cross in.

That first half was the abyss, the worst half of football I’ve ever seen and it was absolutely freezing.

Dino made changes quickly which was needed and we were better for it but Thompson should have been taken off, his head had gone after that mistake and he was very jittery.

Need to back the team in the coming weeks at HS but christ that was a bad, bad result against an awful side in Harrogate. They just did the basics, nothing special and we couldn’t match them which was worrying to say the least.

I thought Raglan went off with a head injury, if so he’ll be missing on Saturday. I was told later it wasn’t a head injury but not sure.

We just cannot put a mini run together, others seem to be able to do that.
Initially Raglan was treated for a knock to the head. When coming back on after serving his allotted 30 seconds after treatment he pulled up sharply feeling his knee then quickly went down. He then limped off and was replaced.

Thanks.

Someone told me that who was in the main stand but I never noticed it from where I was.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

According to Dino he jarred his knee.

I didn't like to say to anyone beforehand, and I just hoped I was being paranoid and would be proved wrong but I had this deep, gut feeling that they would be more up for it than us.

And, yes, they were much more alert and on it than we were, at least for the first thirty minutes. The first thirty minutes last night was a criminal offence. Ponderous almost to the point of standstill, with every endeavour being aimed at passing sideways and backwards at the slowest pace imaginable. It was the sort of football you would see at a wake - - - except you wouldn't see that sort of football at a wake because you would be asleep.

I am not going to come down hard on the new boss as he has barely been with us for two minutes. And to be fair he did act swiftly by making changes before half time so he could easily see how bad it was (well, how could he not???).

After that we were more alive but of course we did not have the quality to find an equaliser. Of course we did not have the quality! If that first thirty minutes is a reckoner then we fully deserve to get relegated. How can a performance be so dead in a vital six-pointer? It's no use waking up after thirty minutes when we have already gifted them the lead and we are barely ever capable of finding a goal.

We had better win at Fleetwood. No other result would be acceptable. How do we ever forgive that first thirty minutes?

4 managers this lot have had. The problem is the players, if we survive I hope we can get rid of the lot and start again.

So so true every single word, first 35 an embarrassment and being honest that sideways and back passing with our defensive record only leads to mistakes and they didn’t let us down. But better finishing sees us win that game.

The current way Harrogate and Newport are playing doesn’t bode well for us, we need to urgently show against the so called higher teams to even stand a chance.
We’ve just got to find something from somewhere I’ve never felt so down as leaving HS as last night.

Work some magic for us Dino starting against the Cod’s.

If we are stuck without Fletcher, Whitfield, Smith, Freddie Anderson, Williams ( i know long term) and Foley for say 4 more matches then we're in big trouble our squad has limited quality as it is!, I thought until he got a knock Harper whilst not brilliant did better than most, what we miss more than anything is a vocal Captain/ leader I don't see one !

We desperately need to grind out results then fingers crossed 🤞 we get some of these lads back because at least 3 of them start our games and I think they'll play a massive part in what happens this season.

Hi Andy fellow Utd fan here so I don’t want to fall out with you!😂
About the attendance last night, at BAE they work shifts this week it was 6 days out of 7 so unless you took time off ( I did ) you're not going to holker street after finishing at 6.50, then you have the other shift in who'll start at 6.30 next day and there's night shift, yes I know these aren't cast iron excuses but ,it's on sky / dodgy stick, we've won once at home in 5 months and at times ( I'm a season ticket holder) even I've thought twice about going and last night it was really cold, I know you're frustrated but hand on heart I can't honestly blame people not going!
Do they want EFL I believe all most people want is a team that gives everything and actually looks organised and capable of winning, after last night the jury's out !, I'm sick of watching videos saying the lads care etc!
can Dino do it ,he deserves the freedom of Barrow if he does!

Make of what Dino has to say as you will
.
The supporters tried to spur on the team and give them a lift last night but they never responded.
After Saturday there was hope after last night there remains more questions than answers.
Yes I get the fatigue but these are professional footballers supposedly fighting for their livelihood. Where is the fight in most of them, they flatter to deceive.
If they don’t believe in themselves then what hope do we have. Motivation comes from within first and foremost in every job and too many looked demotivated that’s a massive concern for me.
Do they actually care, i didn’t see that in the performance of too many in the team last night.
Dino isn’t a miracle worker and I think the task at hand hit home last night, not sure how he lifts some of these lifeless individuals but that he must.
